To the North Island

The next stop was Picton itself where we played at Le Cafe, this included surprise visits from Andrew Gamble, Danielle Farry and the lovely Becca from the old  Milford Crew. After the performance and a couple of quiet drinks Mr Gamble decided to take us to an Irish pub with live music where he enjoyed his 100th Guinness (Well done!) and while at said pub we happened to meet a very talented musician by the name of Midge Mcleary who plays guitar and sings with a John Martyn style- He and Jared swapped albums. We stayed a The Juggler's Rest with Nikki and Bruce who also attended our show. The next morning we caught the ferry in the cold, rainy early hours. Once on the ferry Jo slept and Jared admired the scenery as he had not been on a ferry before. Once in Wellington we drove all the way up to Hamilton and stayed with Jo's Sister Jess for a couple of nights. We borrowed Jo's Mum's camera and then drove to the Coromandel for our gig at Hot Water Beach.
The Coromandal! Tour really starts to feel like a holiday here boys and girls. Hot Waves Cafe was the first gig for the north and what a great way to start, excellent food and an attentive audience - a few of which we would see at our next show in Hahei at The Grange Bar. During this time we stayed with Jo's relatives Trish&Trev at Waihi Beach and Sally&Tad in Coroglen with lots of laughs and good times (Tad and Jared bonded over a mutual love of 70's Bee Gees) Next stop was Thames, then round the corner to Whangarei where we played at Morrisey's Irish pub at which Jared got heckled by a funny old drunkered. We had a surprise visit from Kylie&Lisa as well as the talented Nicola Probret who we hope to hear from again very soon!

 Ooh the toll tunnel!

The Funky Fish was next just outside of Dargaville at Bayly's Beach and it was totally rad! A big thank you to Beth and the staff who made us feel so welcome - we recommend that any touring bands looking for a gig in Northland check this place out! We were treated to a nice cup of coffee in the morning from Beth and then moved on to Auckland to stay with Cory & Felicity. A Game of Thrones season two marathon ensued along with some fine cuisine from Cory who is quite the cook! The next night was a delight as it gave us the chance to not only catch up with Nadia Reid and  Michael Cathro but to also play a gig at The Wine cellar with them ( Thanks for the sweet gig guys!). After the gig we went back to Cory's abode to enjoy some refreshments with HAYDEN RUMBLE! Lots of laughs were had by all . The next day we came to Hamilton for a little bit of rnr. Our next show was in Cambridge at the Irisistablue cafe - nice feed and a nice crowd . Two more gigs would follow at Vinnie's in Raglan  and Seismic Gastro Bar in Rotorua ( marathon 4hr gig!) this about brings us up to date - sorry it has taken so long!
